Mission Statement
The Joint Forces Headquarters of California exercises command and/or control over all assigned, attached or operationally aligned forces. It acts a standing, forward-deployed joint force headquarters, within geographic confines of the state; it provides situational awareness of developing or on-going emergencies and activities to federal and state authority. JFHQ consists of four federal elements and associated state elements as allowed by state statute. Subordinate to the Adjutant General (Commander, Joint Forces Headquarters) are The Deputy Adjutant General (Ground Component Commander) – Army, The Deputy Adjutant General (Air Component Commander), and The Deputy Adjutant General – Joint Staff. The State Military Department consists of The State Military Reserve and The Civil Support Division. The Headquarters, Headquarters Detachment (HHD) is responsible to the Chief of Staff of Army for ensuring administrative functions, accountability and training are programmed for soldiers assigned to JFHQ-Army for Individual Duty Training periods.
