Vision:

The J7 Directorate is a qualified, trained, professional staff coordinating the current and future joint training and joint exercise requirements to ensure the individual and organizational proficiency in joint operations to support the citizens of California and the Nation.

Mission:

The J7 Directorate serves as the primary staff element responsible for planning and coordinating the joint training and joint exercise program for the California National Guard.  Responsible for Joint Professional Military Education, Joint Training Plan, and the Joint Force Headquarters Joint Exercises and Validation program. The J7 Directorate provides coordination and oversight for developmental and specialty joint training programs as directed.

Primary Tasks:

• Develop and implement a program to manage the Joint Professional Military Education program for current and projected officers assigned to the Joint Force Headquarters - California, and Joint Task Force.

• Support the Commander’s efforts to establish and maintain the Joint Mission Essential Task List to ensure training readiness for assigned missions.

• Coordinate the yearly Joint Training Plan for the joint training activities for the Joint Force Headquarters - California, and selected field units as designated.

• Plan and conduct a program to train, rehearse, exercise, and evaluate the ability of the joint staff to accomplish their assigned tasks and functions.
