 Mission: 

The mission of the Environmental Programs Directorate is to support the readiness of the California Army National Guard by ensuring the continued availability of training lands and facilities through responsible environmental stewardship, and compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.

Goals:

  • Maximize the availability and sustainment of training lands and facilities to enable soldier training.

  • Remediate environmentally impacted training lands and facilities.

  • Provide environmental guidance and support for all California Army National Guard missions, operations, projects, and activities.

  • Develop programs to maximize our resources in order to achieve zero enforcement actions or other adverse regulatory actions.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local environmental laws, regulations, and ordinances.

  • Develop and provide training on environmental stewardship, compliance, and pollution prevention.

  • Promote and implement Pollution Prevention as the preferred strategy for protecting the environment, conserving resources, and enhancing mission readiness.

  • Identify environmental project requirements 3-5 years out.

  • Improve and enhance customer service through effective communication of environmental processes.

  • Communicate environmental requirements to senior leadership, installation commanders and directors.
