STATE MISSION STATEMENT: To mobilize and deploy rapidly and provide public and command information services anywhere in the state and nation where California National Guard personnel are conducting military operations and providing support to civil authorities. Provide services and facilities to accredited media representatives as well as provide public command information services with augmentation from Mobile Public Affairs Detachments (MPAD) in support of combined, unified and joint operations. Additionally, serve and support the local communities in which we live and work.
FEDERAL MISSION STATEMENT: Mobilize and deploy rapidly to any Outside of the Continental United States (OCONUS) theater and provide services and facilities to accredited media representatives as well as provide public and command information services in support of combined, unified and joint operations. The Public Affairs Detachment (PAD) may be employed in a stand-alone role, supporting a Combined Joint Information Center or supporting a combined media operations center. When supporting these organizations, it can perform news production or news release activities, media relations or command information programs. When providing the sole public affairs support to a deployed unit in combined, unified or joint operations, it also will act as the coordinating staff element for public affairs and the PAD Commander will be the public affairs advisor to the commander.
