SPECIAL EVENTS
Showcasing the work and activities of the 40th Infantry Division (M) in a variety of ways, such as providing content for exhibits and displays, preparing news releases and planning and assisting with change of command ceremonies, deployment and return of forces, dedications/ribbon cuttings of new armories, media events, etc.
PART OF THE COMMUNITY
The 40th Infantry Division (M) is part of many communities in which our unit armories are located. Both on and off duty our guardsmen seek to improve the quality of life for and in our communities. Many of our armories are used as warming shelters in the winter, meeting places for Boy and Girl Scouts, civic organizations and other non-profit groups. Units participate in Memorial Day, 4th of July, Veterans Day parades, provide static displays for a multitude of events and the 40th Infantry Division Band is constantly on the road providing entertainment. And many of the communities are taking part in the 'Adopt an Armory' Program throughout the state.
PUBLIC OUTREACH
Outreach is very important to the 40th Infantry Division (M) and the California National Guard. Our goal is to do more than just inform people of our actions; se want people in the communities engaged and be a part of what we do for our Citizen Soldiers. Furthermore, we seek to ensure those with limited English proficiency, and socio-economically disadvantage individuals are also reached. We seek to create and build partnerships that involve the community, help form mutual understanding, engender trust in the Guard and encourage members of the community to join us in this time National Emergency.
